I write, I compose, I create.
Based out of Tiotia:ke/Mooniyang/Montreal, Christine ML Lee is a composer, playwright and poet interested in the intersection between music, movement and storytelling. After finishing her last year as the composer-in-residence at the University of Montreal Choir, she completed the Songwriting Workshop at Berklee College of Music in Boston. One of her latest work, Bloom, is a choir composition for which she wrote the music and lyrics, and was premiered by the Choeur du Brouhaha. Working with dance and spoken word, Christine has had her music performed at Festival Quartiers Danses and in Montreal Botanical Gardens. As a sound designer, she was nominated for a META award for her work on Psycho 6(Teesri Duniya Theatre). Alumna of Nightwood Theatre’s Young Innovators Unit & Playwrights' Workshop Montréal's Young Creators Unit, Christine is currently working on a musical, Just a Note, supported by the Canada Council for the Arts. She subsequently won a Frankie award for Most Promising Emerging Artist for the staged reading of her musical at the Festival St-Ambroise Montreal Fringe 2022. Christine is currently serving on the Board of Directors for the Quebec Writers’ Federation.
As a cultural worker, Christine has worked with the ELAN(English Language Arts Network), Playwrights' Workshop Montreal, Bozzini String Quartet, Agence Musicale Étudiante (AME) and is a proud graduate of the HEC Montréal Arts Management DESS program.
